WEST AFRICAN SECONDARY SCHOOLS ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION
Over the years, we've seen schools in West Africa show a lack of care in developing the child anywhere other than in the classroom, almost abandoning the need for sports in children's lives, and making it a thing that is only allowed once they've fulfilled their duties in the classroom.
We did a survey with some of the top private schools in West Africa to gauge how successful their model of rigorous academic development with sports as a bystander has been since the year 2000. We found that on average, 1 child every 6 years (1:600) gets a full-ride scholarship to further their education at some of the best universities in the world. Making it an abnormality instead of the norm.
WASSAA is a collective of the best secondary schools across West Africa, being used to find the right balance in developing a child both in the classroom and on the field to develop the best student athletes the world has to offer, giving every child every pathway and opportunity to maximize their potential.
